Andrew Knox, Transition Toronto, co-host of EcoFair Toronto, will launch the 2021 EcoFair! “Nuturing Nature in the City” will be presented by: 

Victoria Badham, Toronto Wildlife Centre. 

Toronto Wildlife Centre is Canada’s largest and busiest wildlife centre. Learn about wildlife in the City and how we can protect it from an organization that is a leader in the field of wildlife rehabilitation. 

Toronto Wildlife Centre is a charitable wildlife rescue organization providing medical treatment and rehabilitative care to sick, injured and orphaned wild animals found by members of the public. Since opening in 1993, with the help of volunteers and donors, over 300 different species have been admitted for care. 

Charlotte Burke, Roots & Shoots, Jane Goodall Institute of Canada

Learn about Roots & Shoots, a program that educates and empowers young people to become involved in hands-on projects for animals, people and the environment. This humanitarian and environmental program is now in more than 50 countries around the world.

Roots & Shoots focuses on Jane Goodall’s inspirational message of hope, reminding participants that every individual is important and every individual can make a difference.

Learn about the pilot project launched this year with the City of Toronto’s Forestry department to allow citizens to do stewardship in natural areas after taking a newly-developed training course.
